The pool is getting shorter for me. When I started working long course this summer, I was dying. Wait, that should have a capital D: Dying. Everything hurt, and 100 meters took forever; Forever.
I don't know if it's because I shortened my stroke and increased the tempo, trying to be more of a front quadrant swimmer on the distances. I don't know if it's because I swam my first long course meet last weekend. I don't know if it's because I shifted my focus away from heavy technique work to just swimming. The reason is likely a combination of all factors. The higher tempo stroke keeps me moving along easier, and meets almost always help me to step up my practicing.
