Roman Taper

I'm calling it the Roman taper. My wife and I went to Rome from 03/22/09 - 03/29/09. I didn't get back into my regular workout routine until 03/31/09 because we were traveling all day on the 30th.

I swam once in Rome -- about 1500m, with some fast 50s when I could get around the other people in my lane. My legs got a lot of work because we walked everywhere. My wife and I probably averaged 5-7 miles a day on foot walking around and sightseeing. My upper body did not get so much work.

We ate well. Lots of gnocchi, ravioli, and pizza. So I'm carbo-loaded.

I came back and am just doing some taper workouts until the state meet this weekend. No use in trying to build up yardage until after states.

We'll see how it goes...
